Computer Science all Grades

The Adafruit Circuit Playground Express is an excellent low cost device to utilize when teaching introductory electronics and programing.

Utilize Microsoft MakeCode block-based or Javascript programming, CircuitPython, or advance to using the Arduino IDE with the Circuit Playground Express to make powerful projects. You're even be able to utilize Circuit Playground Express within the code.org CS Discoveries courseware.

Microcontrollers Everywhere

Microcontrollers are used in everything from a sprinkler system to a sophisticated satellite system. Your car may be equipped with as many as 50 microcontrollers and a new home may have 60 embedded microcontroller systems.

Microcontrollers are very useful in everyday life. Circuit Playground Express is a microcontroller designed specifically for the educational market. The Playground Express is loaded with sensors for input and LED lights for output along with many other features that make the device very appealing for electronic and programing instruction.

Shoshoni CodeWranglers

Shoshoni students volunteered to showcase Arduino projects and present a couple workshops utilizing Adafruit Circuit Playground Express microcontrollers at the 2018 Wyoming Innovations in Learning Conference.

Kiana, Marisol, Megan, and Mikyla helped attendees program a Circuit Playground Express microcontroller. Attendees created code to turn on and off LED lights, utilize buttons & sensors, transmit and receive infrared signals and trigger high voltage relays.

Microcontrollers are used for embedded control in virtually every field of science and engineering. Microcontroller education has experienced tremendous change in recent years. Micro:Bit, Circuit Playground Express, Arduino microcontrollers are fun and packed with amazing possibilities for all.

Code & STEM Showcase

Code.org is a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to computer science in schools with a vision where every student in every school has the opportunity to learn computer science. Shoshoni STEM Showcase is held during Computer Science Education Week and the "Hour of Code".

Hydroponics & Robotics

Grow plants without soil, automate and innovate is the name of the game. Interdisciplinary branch of engineering and science that includes mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, information engineering, computer science, is what robotics is all about.
